CNN Labels Everyone on Gab and 8Chan ‘White Supremacists’

The Cable News Network, known mostly for spreading the Russian “collusion” conspiracy theory, recently labeled every user of 8chan and Gab “white supremacists.”

What: In an article bashing President Trump and his supporters for his “racist” Tweets telling Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) to “go back” to Somalia after she called America “unjust,” CNN slandered every single user of Gab, pitched as the free speech Twitter alternative, and 8chan, and anonymous messaging board.

“Threads on 8chan and Gab — platforms used by the far-right for their permissive approach to hate speech — included praise for Trump’s comments, with many repeating some of the false narrative about the congresswomen’s heritages put forth by the President,” said in a piece titled “Trump said ‘many people agree’ with his racist tweets. These white supremacists certainly do.”

Why It Matters: First of all, hate speech doesn’t exist. Such labeling is used only by leftists in an attempt to silence the speech of political opponents.

More importantly, Gab recently hit the one million user mark. Likewise, 8chan has millions of users. Labeling all of them “white supremacists” is, to put it mildly, painting with a broad brush.

Finally, 8chan is an anonymous message board. It’s impossible to tell the race of the commenter.

Nice try, CNN.
