A “reporter” at left-wing rag The Atlantic complained Sunday on Twitter that air conditioning is, among other things, sexist.
Who: Taylor Lorenz, The Atlantic.
What: “Air-conditioning is unhealthy, bad, miserable, and sexist,” Lorenz said on Twitter. “I can’t explain how many times I’ve gotten sick over the summer b/c of overzealous AC in offices. #BanAC”
Where: Presumably from her closet-sized studio apartment in Brooklyn, surrounded by her several cats.
Why It Matters: The war on AC has long been heating up, so to speak. As far back as 2015, third-wave feminist “scholars” with intersectional lesbian art theory degrees have been complaining that air conditioning is sexist because – in their view – men like rooms and office spaces cooler, which forces women to be cold in such spaces. Illustrious think-pieces on the subject have appeared in such esteemed publications as TIME Magazine, The New York Times, and Quartz.
Way to tackle the tough issues, everyone!
