Republican Governors have higher approval ratings than Democratic Governors in a recent survey conducted by the global technology and data research company, Morning Consult.
The ranking was determined by surveying 472,000 registered voters during the first calendar quarter of 2019.
There are currently 27 Republican Governors and 23 Democratic Governors running our states. Republicans held the first 15 positions on the list, while the 27 Republicans as a group had a 17% net higher approval rating than Democrats.
Charlie Baker of Massachusetts is the most popular governor receiving support from both Republicans and Democrats in the State.
Of the 10 least popular governors, eight of them were Democrats, including Phil Murphy of New Jersey, and Gavin Newsom of California. Only 42% of the people surveyed in Virginia approve of the job racist Ralph Northam is doing, making him the 45th most popular governor in the country. Liberal governor Kate Brown of Oregon ranks 47th on the list.
Republican Matt Bevin of Kentucky is the least liked governor in the country with 56% of voters disapproving of his job performance. In 2020, he will face a Republican primary challenger in the deep-red state.
