WATCH: Tommy Robinson Makes Plea for Political Asylum in United States

After British free speech activist Tommy Robinson who was convicted of contempt for a second time in a Leeds court, he is pleading with President Trump to grant him political asylum. Robinson’s “crime” was filming outside a courtroom, exposing that the government was prosecuting a Muslim gang for grooming young women.

Who: British free speech activist Tommy Robinson.

What: “Today, I’m calling on the help of Donald Trump, his administration, and the Republican Party, to grant me and my family political asylum in the United States of America,” Robinson said on InfoWars.

Robinson was re-convicted on contempt charges – for which he already served five months in jail in 2018 – on July 5. He said the charges were politically motivated, and believes that this time, he will be killed in prison.

“This week I was found guilty on three counts of contempt of court by two judges,” Robinson said on InfoWars. “There was no jury to find me guilty. Two appointed judges. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Both judges found me guilty because they believed I breached a reporting restriction on a Muslim child gang rape trial.”

Where: Mother England.

When: Robinson made his plea for asylum Monday.

Why It Matters: The persecution of Robinson serves as an Orwellian reminder that reporting news the state does not want reported can lead to jail time. In this case, the British government, after letting itself be overrun with Islamic migrants, is desperate to keep its culture clash quiet.
