WHAT? Mueller Says He’s ‘Not Familiar’ With Fusion GPS

At the risk of re-hashing the greatest hoax ever perpetrated in American political history, former special counsel Robert S. Mueller III is testifying on Capitol Hill about his bogus Russian “collusion” investigation, and claimed that he’s never heard of Fusion GPS.

What: Most of you know the story: The Clinton campaign hired Fusion GPS, who in turn paid Christopher Steele to do opposition research on then-candidate Trump. Steele then produced a salacious and unverified dossier, claiming that Trump had various ties to Russia. That dossier was one of the bases for the entire investigation into the Trump campaign. Today, Mueller said in his testimony that he’s “not familiar” with Fusion GPS.

Why It Matters: That assertion on behalf of Mueller is simply unbelievable – in the true sense of the word – as noted by several conservative pundits.

“Robert Mueller literally just said he wasn’t familiar with Fusion GPS. My Lord. My Lord,” Molly Hemingway of The Federalist said.

“Wait, what? Mueller was confused about who and what Fusion GPS is and does? This is a total, complete, apocalyptic disaster for the conspiracy-theory Democrats. This is imploding on them. Hilarious,” Dan Bongino said.

Mueller also claimed that Fusion GPS was outside his “purview,” which is nearly impossible, given that the purview of his investigation was essentially undefined.

“How can Fusion Gps and Steele dossier be outside of Mueller’s ‘purview’ entirely? They provided many of the allegations he spent all that time investigating. He could totally answer those questions that go to his report,” Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel said.
