Baltimore Sun Bashes Scott Presler, Trump Supporters, for Cleaning Up Baltimore

The Baltimore Sun, a Trump-hating rag which found itself in the middle of the controversy between the President and failed Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), bashed Trump supporter Scott Presler for leading a day of volunteer service in the city Monday.

“Call us skeptical,” the paper said of Presler’s motives.

The piece questioned whether Presler’s intentions were pure, or whether he organized the cleanup for a photo opportunity and positive press for Trump and Trump’s supporters.

“But if this was all about ‘Americans helping Americans,’ why all the videos of Baltimore residents thanking Mr. Trump for bringing attention to the issue?” the paper said. “We happen to know that not everybody in West Baltimore feels that way. And in the same posts as the videos, why the frequent reminders that this is in act Mr. Cummings’ district?”

Regardless of Presler’s intent, he did a positive thing for a struggling community. You might notice that none of the staff members over at The Baltimore Sun could be bothered to roll up their sleeves and pitch in to the volunteer effort. What ever happened to a good, old fashioned “thank you”?

“Whatever he says his motives were, Mr. Presler’s presence in Baltimore reinforces the tired image of our failing urban cores. That the poor people in this dilapidated city can’t take care of their own neighborhoods and all the public officials around them have failed as well. The bureaucratic, all-talk Democrats strike again,” the paper continued bitterly.

If that’s not the image Baltimore wants, why doesn’t Cummings organize a cleanup effort? The answer is because he doesn’t care.

So no, Baltimore Sun, we’re not calling you “skeptical.”

We’re calling you lazy. And we’re calling your elected officials incompetent fat-cats who would rather argue over semantics on Twitter than help their own people. It must be embarrassing to be shown up like that.

No good deed goes unpunished.
