BREAKING: At Least Six Police Officers Wounded in Drug Raid in Philadelphia

7:22pm ET update: Police scanner chatter indicates that three people are in custody, and that one suspect is still firing on police from the “first floor dining room” of the drug den raided by police.

According to several news sources, a gun battle between suspected drug dealers and police has left six Philadelphia police officers wounded. 

“Six Philadelphia police officers were shot on Wednesday in a drug raid on a home, and at least one shooter continued to fire on officers barricaded inside, according to police and local media,” according to Reuters. “Philadelphia Police said the officers did not have life-threatening injuries.”

Two more officers were wounded in a car accident on the way to the scene.

At the time of this writing, at least one suspect has been taken into custody, but at least one more is still firing on police officers. North Philadelphia has come to a stand-still as police instruct residents to stay away from the area.
