Trump-Hating WaPo Columnist Has Hilarious Existential Crisis

An admitted hater of President Donald J. Trump and opinion columnist at The Washington Post had a hilarious existential crisis over the weekend, and wondered if his writing is having any impact on hindering the Trump agenda.

“Don’t get me wrong. I love what I do and realize I am supremely lucky to be able to make my living by writing and speaking about the news of the day. I find contentment in the craft of writing and fulfillment in self-expression. But I do sometimes wonder what I am actually accomplishing,” he said in a weekend column.

Boot is an opinion writer – barely distinguishable from the rest of the blowhard brigade at WaPo, including the alleged “journalists” – so technically his mission to “get Trump” is in bounds. Still, his failure is hilarious.

“Much of my journalism for the past four years has been devoted to critiquing President Trump and opposing the spread of Trumpism,” he said. “But no matter how many columns or sound bites I produce, he remains in office, acting (as Sharpiegate shows) more erratically than ever. Sure, he’s not terribly popular — but he could still be reelected. I am left to ask if all my work has made any difference.”

It hasn’t.

The number of ordinary, Trump-supporting Americans who read WaPo is approaching zero. The paper, lacking credibility before the two-year “Russian collusion” hoax, hasn’t a shred of credibility left in Middle America. In other words, nobody cares what Boot or his colleagues at the pretentious paper have to say. Not to mention, he’s written pretty much the same column every week for the past three years.

Along with the rest the #NeverTrump crowd, he’s been yelling into the endless abyss since 2015, and wondering why nobody can hear him.
