On Tuesday night’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Tucker Carlson took aim at a plethora of current policymakers. In a revealing segment, Carlson exposed many so-called defenders of science for explicitly ignoring their own directions.
In Short: Carlson explains that policymakers have, time and time again, gotten away with the very things they punish us for doing.
Context: One notable hypocrite, Democrat Mayor of New York City Bill De Blasio, was shown in the segment disregarding his own restrictions on non-essential travel. Just days after ordering all residents of New York City to stay inside, De Blasio was seen taking what must’ve been a vitally important trip from his home in Manhattan across town to Brooklyn.
De Blasio was actually taking a trip to his favorite gym, over 10 miles from his residency in Manhattan. When asked why he did this, the Mayor’s response could be summed up to say “I wanted to.”
Democrat Mayor of Chicago Lori Lightfoot can be added to the long list of leaders who refuse to follow their own orders. If you live in Chicago, your hair was probably not cut for the entire month of April. That is, unless your name is Lori Lightfoot.
The Mayor defied city guidelines, and had her hair done anyway.
“No matter how many times you watch it, it drops your jaw every time,” Carlson said.
Lightfoot said the following:
“I’m the public face of this city. I’m on national media, and I’m out in the public eye… I take my personal hygiene very seriously. As I said I felt like I needed to have a haircut. I’m not able to do that myself, so I got a haircut.”
Carlson would go on to lambaste the likes of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, CNN news anchor Chris Cuomo, as well as his brother Governor Andrew Cuomo in a segment that leaves the average viewer puzzled on how their leaders even got elected in the first place.
The Big Picture: None of this should come across as shocking. It seems to be a reoccurring trend in American life. Our leaders demand we listen to them, they do precisely what they’ve instructed us not to do, they get caught doing it, details emerge, they defend their own actions, and then double down on their previous demands.
These people are so apparently hypocritical. It’s not like they’re unaware of it either. They know they are. It doesn’t matter to them. They’re better than you, at least in their minds. These are people who take themselves so seriously that it’s almost comical. They’re a joke.
